Professional Soccer in the ‘Burg

In 2014, the World Cup hit record television viewership in the United States as the sport of Soccer is growing across the country. A sport that has inspired loyalty among European, Russian and African fans for years is finally catching up in the United States. If you or your kids are interested in Soccer, then a night out in downtown St. Petersburg for a Tampa Bay Rowdies game will make the whole family happy.

With a recent renovation to Al Lang Stadium and its waterfront location, this is the perfect place to watch our professional soccer team. There is lots of fan loyalty for the Tampa Bay Rowdies with “Ralph’s Mob” providing the chants and cheers you would expect from passionate fans. When you are at the games, you get a sense that everyone is having a great time and enjoying a world-class professional soccer club.

Even the soccer players seem happy to be here. They often can be seen signing autographs after the game and engaging with their fans and the little kids in the audience. As Goalkeeper Kamil Contofalsky from the Russian Premier League recently said about his move to the Tampa Bay Rowdies, “It’s a dream destination for any football player from Europe.”

You can begin your soccer night tailgating in the parking lot with a nice picnic and drinks or taking a short walk for food and drinks at the Rowdies Den. Either way, you know the night is going to end with a wonderful sporting experience that is unique to our sweet home in the ‘Burg.

Can’t wait to walk to the games!
