Working out in the Burg is easy. We are lucky enough to enjoy the sunshine most days of the year and have extremely mild Winters. While there is still a significant amount of people here who set the new year’s resolution to get healthy and workout, St. Petersburg makes it easy for healthy living to become a lifestyle.
Here are some of our favorite ways to get fit
With miles of waterfront trails that are safe and connected, a walk along the waterfront is our favorite way to end the day. The views are spectacular, the people and furry friends are usually friendly, and there is always something beautiful to appreciate.
Take a Yoga Class
The Sundial in Downtown St. Petersburg offers a free yoga class every Sunday in their outside space and is a fun way to get more limber while being able to enjoy the downtown shops or cafes afterward. The Dali Museum also has their yoga class every Sunday that includes admission to the museum. And if you prefer to get your stretch on indoors, the Body Electric is a local favorite. Known for their welcoming and friendly vibe that accepts all of us, even the ones that have nothing in common with Gumby, this place is always tops on the Best of the Bay lists.
Swimming laps is always a top way to get circulation into your body while still being kind to your joints. The Salvador will have a solar heated pool on an elevated deck giving you an exercise space with a sky view for your backstroke.
